Below is the wonderful thank you letter I received from the kids at Ellington Infant School after taking three classes with them, when we came up with some new images for the story Hansel and Gretel, their topic for the week.
Paul is an artist, author and illustrator. During his school visits, Paul works with the imagination of the children to make a memorable experience and help spread the message that being creative is one of the most important things we can do, and that expressing ourselves creatively every day helps keep our brains fit and healthy!
There’s an art to being silly. Children react strongly to it, usually in the form of unbridled laughter! When showing his drawings and paintings to the children, Paul has found that the biggest laughs come from the Three Bottomed Gorog and his Mr Bean caricature.
In collaboration with the children, Paul will draw an image in front of the class based on any topic (eg. Hansel and Gretel, The Romans etc) using the suggestions from the children to help lead the direction of an illustration.
